Climbing Ice / Yvon Chouinard(イヴォン・シュイナード)
The initial reaction of most people when they open this book is total silence! The photographs are so awesome and the risks being taken are so apparently ultimate, that there is just nothing to say. Those few of you interested in trying ice climbing will find a very technical presentation of both strategy and tactics, technique of all sorts explained in detail, and an erudite discussion of equipment. Those of you who have no intention of ever doing this sort of thing may find much of the writing inspiring and exciting anyway, and of course the photographs! Ah yes, the photographs — and a reasonable price too. I’ve added this to my permanent library.
