ホールアースカタログを支援していた「Portola Institute」によって出版された教育系ツールを紹介したカタログです。

Big Rock Candy Mountain is a Portola Institute publication with a format similar to WHOLE EARTH CATALOG and contents it calls Resources for Our Education. I’m close enough to it to have the same complaints I do about the CATALOG: it is too wishful, too little experienced in grimy school work, too self-indulgent in listing material of interest only to the editors. But we get some of Big Rock’s mail, and I also know that its readers are glad to have it, especially when they’re up against the classroom wall needing sympathy, wisdom, diversion, and tools to get through the day with.
